APDCL 2019 Exam cancelled, to be conducted again: CM Himanta Biswa Sarma

After 10 people were arrested in connection with a cash-for-job scam on Friday, the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL)2019 exam has been canceled.

During a press conference, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the 2019 APDCL exam has been cancelled and will be conducted once more. The chief minister announced the decision during a press conference on Saturday.

A special team of the CM’s Vigilance group conducted special operations in Guwahati. As media report, 10 people have been apprehended till now in connection with the APDCL recruitment scam. 3 persons have been arrested from Jalukbari, 4 from Basistha, 1 from Chandmari and 2 from Dispur.

Dipankar Dehingia, the APDCL OSD, was one of the ten arrested. Dipankar has been working as an officer on special duty at the APDCL since 2006.

Dipankar also formulated the question papers for the exam, according to an official report. The CM vigilance team raided Shasank Saikia’s residence and recovered evidence related to the scam.
