Biden announces plan to put 500,000 electric vehicle chargers

At the Detroit Auto Show, PRESIDENT Biden announced a $900 million US investment in infrastructure for electric vehicle charging.

The enormous $900 million fund will be used to create roughly 500,000 charging stations spread out over 35 states and 53,000 miles in the United States.

On August 16, President Biden officially enacted his Inflation Reduction Act.

For the construction of EV [electric vehicle] charging stations, the Inflation Reduction Act allocates $5 billion over a five-year period.

At the Detroit Auto Show, President Biden was quoted as saying: "A network of 500,000 charging stations will include you all.

The great American road trip will be entirely electrified, said Biden.

The list of EVs that are eligible for tax credits has been updated by President Biden's Inflation Reduction Act.
