Mega Millions jackpot hits 1/3 of a billion

The upcoming Mega Millions is set to grab over a third of a billion dollars in drawings.

North Carolina Education Lottery officials announced Friday that a $360 million annuity prize will be up for grabs on Saturday's drawing.

The cash payment will be $199,3 million.

According to the executive director Mark Michalko, every time the jackpot goes on a big roll like this, "it's an exciting time for all of our participants."

Jackpot sizes for Mega Millions and Powerball drawings were optional before someone in Vermont won the massive $366.7 million Powerball prize earlier this week.

$10,000 was won on a ticket purchased in Lexington, but the winner has not yet claimed it.
