The rarity of some dimes may surprise you. One of those incredibly rare coins is the 1895 O Barber LIBERTY Silver Dime.
The dime was created by American coin engraver Charles E. Barber, who also held the position of sixth chief engraver at the United States Mint from 1879 to 1917.
On the coin, Miss Liberty is depicted with her hair in a Phrygian cap and a laurel wreath around her neck.
The word "ONE DIME" is encircled by a sizable wreath on the reverse.
One recently sold for a remarkable $1,577 on eBay.
After seven bids, the seller's $1 listing for the dime increased to over $112.
