A Kew Gardens 50p coin has sold for £250 on eBay, 500 times its face value.
This coin design is considered one of the rarest and is often sold for hundreds of pounds if the right buyer is found. In 2009, only 210,000 of these coins were minted.
The coin takes first place on the latest scarcity index of coin collecting expert Change Checker and is also the third rarest coin in the Royal Mint's collection.
The coin features an image of the Chinese pagoda from the popular London attraction, Kew Gardens and was designed to mark the 250th anniversary of the tourist spot's opening.
Eight bidders placed 24 bids for the coin over three days, starting at £50 and reaching over £200.
The value of the coin can vary from one day to the next, but some have sold for as much as £707.
