A woman was arrested for stealing her mother's car and then selling the vehicle for just $500.
Mother's 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was missing from her home in Covington, Tennessee.
A month later, a woman was pulled over for driving a stolen Monte Carlo in Memphis and told police that her boyfriend had bought it from an unidentified woman for $500.
An investigation revealed that the unidentified woman selling the car was the victim's daughter, Jessica Beloet.
Belot denied any involvement in the car theft, but was arrested because of the evidence in the case.
Beloit has been charged with illegally stealing and stealing items worth more than $1,000.
He is being held under a $5,000 bond. He will be produced in court on July 15.
